Every pregnancy, birth, and parenting journey is different! We offer a variety of classes that address the common goals and questions that most expecting parents have.
Each class combines evidence-based information with an open-minded approach and a wide variety of techniques, so you can be sure you’re getting the support your family needs!

Our most in-depth, comprehensive, and community-building class.
15 hours, $525
Week One: Intro to birth, understanding labor discomfort, breathing and relaxation techniques
Week Two: Stages of labor, your body’s innate skills, the power of visualizations, how doulas can help
Week Three: Your senses in labor, practice hands-on comfort techniques and labor positions
Week Four: Interventions, understanding inductions, what to expect from and how to communication with your care team, pain medication options
Week Five: Assisted delivery, complications, birth visits, communication with your team
Week Six: Postpartum recovery, your newborn, review & practice, blessing
Every class includes hands-on practice, time for connecting with other parents, and a reunion after our babies have arrived!

Fast-paced weekend class that provides an overview of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
6 hours, $295

Hands-on workshop focused on learning - and practicing - comfort techniques and labor positions.
3 hrs, $120

Focused on helping parents get off to a good start with breast/chestfeeding right from birth. Partners and support people are encouraged to attend! Taught by the experts at East Bay Lactation Associates.
2.5 hrs, $75
Topics include:
Building a robust milk supply
Achieving comfortable breastfeeding
Understanding newborn feeding cues
Strategies to prevent/address common difficulties
Ways to support breastfeeding parent

We’ll focus on the skills and knowledge you need to be prepared for your first weeks at home with your little one.
4 hrs, $175

Newborn appearance and temperament

Interactive workshop emphasizing labor support techniques and tools for the birthing person and birth team.
3 hours, $100
Topics include:
Debriefing the first labor/birth
Goals for the second (or third) birth
Overview of birth process the 2nd/3rd time
Breath work, sounding, staying in the moment
Comfort techniques and labor positions
How pushing is different the second time
Role of support team
Wise use of medications
Plans for older children during and after birth

Explore your feelings and learn how a cesarean birth can be a joyful birth experience! If you have discovered that your baby is breech or there are placenta problems or other reasons necessitating an unexpected cesarean delivery, please contact us even at the last minute so we can help you prepare.
2 hrs, $75
Topics include:
Your concerns and fears
Suggestions for transitioning into baby’s birth
Protocols and procedures
Options such as the parents viewing the baby as they are born, skin to skin contact, and breast/chestfeeding in the OR
Contributions of a birth team or doula
Ways to make the experience as fulfilling and comfortable as possible
Plans for breast/chestfeeding and postpartum recovery
Simple stress reduction techniques for surgery preparation and for parenting

Our VBAC workshop is for pregnant folks who have had a cesarean birth and are considering a vaginal birth for the next baby.
3 hrs, $100
Topics include:
Risks of both cesarean and VBAC to birthing person and to baby
Advantages of vaginal birth to birthing person and baby
Feelings about both repeat cesarean and trial of labor
Emotional hurdles
Ways for birth team to provide positive reinforcement and support
Workshop includes a refresher childbirth prep class. We will learn and practice coping techniques for labor, discuss how to build your support system, and develop strategies to maximize the chances of having a vaginal birth. Be empowered with education, practice, and support!
